Me in City Journal on the Media

The truly estimable City Journal has posted my reaction to–well, to several things:  Journolist, Breitbart and the cancellation of my novel Empire of Lies in France for “political and religious” reasons:

The book’s French cancellation is, I realize, a rather small cultural event. Yet it gives specific color to the recent revelations on the Daily Caller website that left-wing journalists conspired to suppress scandals that might harm Barack Obama and to the brouhaha over Breitbart’s online release of a video that resulted in a government worker’s momentarily losing her job. In both stories, one thing leaps out at me: everywhere, the Left favors fewer voices and less information, and conservatives favor more. Everywhere, the Left seeks to disappear its opposition, whereas the Right is willing to meet them head-on.

    Dear Mr. Klavan,
Few years back i read the book “Eurabia”, by the scholar Bar Ye’or, from that book i have learned that no truth, whatsoever, has been allowed to be published within the European Union, therefore, it is no surprise to me that your book has not been allowed to be published in Europe. The TRUTH is poisen for either the Left or to Islam.
Thank G-d that there are people like you, still, in society, freedom fighter that did not give up on their own brain and insisting on using it.
I must admit that i am a pesimist of the worst kind and i know that you, a hero, and your kind and i realize that there are quite a few of you, and no matter are right you are and how brightly you present your/our case, you are reaching but a small section of society. This fact is making me even more pesimist by the day.
Please, do not let this little pesimist deter you from going on with your noble mission of saving Western civilization.
    Thank you Mr. Andrew Klavan
