Read, White and Blue

I missed this last month but it’s kind of nice.  It’s an article in the Christian market trade publication Christian Retailing discussing an increasing trend toward marketing patriotic products on Veteran’s Day, November 11th.  I say it’s kind of nice because my next novel for adults, The Identity Man, is scheduled for publication that day–and because the article includes a quote from me.  I don’t remember giving the interview frankly – but, like the politicians say, I approve this message:

“It’s become unfashionable to say so, but the simple truth is that America is unique,” said Andrew Klavan, whose “The Homelanders” young adult series for Thomas Nelson follows the exploits of a patriotic teen. “For Americans, patriotism doesn’t mean nationalism or racial pride. It’s not just love of this particular piece of earth either. For us, patriotism is primarily love and loyalty to this precious idea of liberty.”

This expresses very well something I’ve long had difficulty finding the proper words for. Thanks.
