TWO NEW BOOKS: The Identity Man

Identity Man by Andrew KlavanThe Truth of the Matter by Andrew Klavan

Identity Man, Edgar-winner Klavan’s compelling thriller for adults focuses on smalltime criminal John Shannon, on the run for a murder he didn’t commit.  With the cops closing in, Shannon receives a message from a mysterious stranger who offers him an amazing gift:  a new face, a new name, and a brand new life.  Sound too good to be true?  It is.  Glenn Beck called this novel “one of the best illustrations of the power of redemption” he’s ever read.   BUY NOW

    Dear Mr. Klavan,
I am a young adult who just bought your book “The Truth of the Matter” yesterday afternoon after I ordered it from Barnes & Noble, and after starting to read it last night, am enjoying it very much. I also own the first two books in the series, and enjoy them also. I also hope that they make the movies that are in discussion.
    Sincerely,
    Ethan

Just finished Identity Man. Great thriller. And as one who has had a couple of life-changing encounters with the Divine, I especially enjoyed how you captured what happens to a person as he makes, and after he has made, a definitive choice to be on the side of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.

Saw your novel Identity Man raved about by one of my favorite writers, Joe Finder, and purchased it. Just finished it and immediately emailed one of my writer friends that I’d just read the best book I’d read in the past ten years.

As a writer myself and creative writing teacher, I’ll be recommending it to all my students as a textbook in creating and maintaining tension. You’ve made a new fan! Just got Empire of Lies on my Kindle and can’t wait to read it.

I also found a kindred soul–I’m one of those minorities–a libertarian/conservative who’s a writer, and it’s a great day when I find another writer with the same sensibilities.

    Blue skies,
    Les Edgerton
Author of Hooked, Monday’s Meal, The Death of Tarpons and others.

Identity Man is much more than just an entertaining read (though it is very much that). It is an accurate diagnosis of what plagues us as a nation, the balkanization that is destroying us as a people as well as the idolatry that is destroying our souls. I wish it would get more attention, but in this media market it will be ignored. Great book!
