Elites, We Hear You!

This weekend, leftist comedians John Stewart and Stephen Colbert held a large “Rally to Restore Sanity,” in Washington DC.  If sanity has to be restored, the implication is that Americans right now are insane.

Leftist President Barack Obama doesn’t think we’re insane necessarily.  He just thinks we’re too overcome with fear to think clearly.  “Part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now and facts and science and argument does not seem to be winning the day all the time is because we’re hardwired not to always think clearly when we’re scared,” the president says.  “And the country’s scared.”

Leftist comedian Bill Maher doesn’t feel we think very clearly even at the best of times.  America, he says, is “a stupid country with stupid people.”  He says Democrats exist to pull the rest of us hillbillies out of the dark ages:

Leftist senator John Kerry more or less agrees with Maher, saying the ordinary voter “doesn’t always pay that much attention to what’s going on, so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth.”  He called this “a period of know-nothingism in the country, where truth and science and facts don’t weigh in.”

Now, stupid as I am–and so scared I could hardly think straight even if I had any brains to begin with–I’m beginning to get the message.  Correct me if I’m wrong, but the way I’m hearing it, these left-wing elites in Washington and Hollywood don’t think much of the rest of us.

Well, shucks.  That makes me feel downright bad.  No, really.  Them being all cool and hip and scientific and stuff.  Here I was walking around like a dunce thinking America was supposed to be an exceptional country, a government of the people, by the people and for the people.  And now it turns out, according to these hip scientific coolsters, the people stink.  Dang.

I guess that explains why leftist film director Woody Allen thinks “It would be good… if [President Obama] could be dictator for a few years because he could do a lot of good things quickly.”  I guess that’s also why leftist New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman says, “One-party autocracy certainly has its drawbacks. But when it is led by a reasonably enlightened group of people, as China is today, it can also have great advantages.”

Of course!  Makes perfect sense. Why have any of that democratic, two-party stuff going on when the people are so stupid not to mention scared out of what little intelligence they have?

So let me see if stupid old me has got all this straight.  The message from our betters is that Republicans equal the people equal stupid, unscientific, insane and scared.  Democrats equal the elites equal everything sophisticated, cool, intelligent and modern–so much so, in fact, that we’ve got to get rid of this democracy stuff that currently threatens to overturn the democratic majority which is the only majority a country could ever want or need.

Yes, as far as I can tell, that’s the message.  And elites, I want you to know that we hear you. We, I mean, the stupid, ignorant and frightened–we the unreasoning and unwashed–we the unscientific and insane–we the patriotic and the faithful–we the constitutional and free–we, that is to say, the people–we have received your message loud and clear.

And we are currently crafting a response.

Remember, the United States is a Republic, a democratic Republic, not a democracy. The United States is a republic, of 50 nation states, ruled by laws, it is not ruled by whatever the current majority opinion happens to be. The laws of our republic include protection of speech, private property, and action (as long as the action is not harmful to other people’s property, speech, or action). And those protections are being eroded by the Federal Government that wants to be a National Government of one single nation state.

I’d love to do a study of this. The narrative used to be that Dems=hearts, Reps=brains. Somehow it’s switched. I think the turning point was 1992, with Dan Quayle on one ticket and the Rhodes scholar on the other.

I would just like to repeat what a complete weasel Bill Maher is. This guy is so annoying, pigheaded, opinionated and wrong that it’s amazing he still has an audience. Kerry needs to get over the fact the he lost and the rest of the “elites” need to wake up and smell reality. That’s my thought for the day, now on to other things…

I am baffled by how many, especially younger people were holding up signs claiming themselves to be “moderates.” Where did that come from? At least the 55 and over crowd are honest enough to claim the more fitting titles of liberal or progressive.

At least it explains how I came to be an extremist without changing a thing about me or my views:)

Personally I think we need to abolish the two party system too, but not into a one party system, but a no party system that would strip the two parties of all the power they derive from monopolizing the political conversation as they do now. Yeah, I know, dream on…

    Dear John “D student” Kerry,

I’ve about had it with your ilk who claim to know how best to run the affairs of The United States of America. Recently, you complained how I am apart of a group of “know nothings.” For one thing, during the “Obama Induced Depression” I’m managing to pay my mortgage, my health insurance, car payment, and my food bills without one dime of welfare – so if I’m a “know nothing” you are a moron.

Let’s evaluate my claim of you being a complete moron. Exhibit A. You chose a running mate of such low character that he would eventually cheat on his cancer stricken wife. Now, I’ll spot any man one screw up; but to claim that he bumped into a videographer 50 times, with such force, and precision, as to impregnate her, well, we call that textbook fornicating, and when one is married, we call that adultery. Exhibit B. Mr. Kerry you believe in global warming, climate change, or anthropomorphic global cooling or warming; none of this can be true, none of it. Prior to man’s arrival and invention of the internal combustion engine, or discovery of anything remotely related to the burning of fossil fuels; the Earth cooled, and warmed, for millions of years. Millions. Thus, you and Obama, are trying to order me, and my fellow citizens to live our lives according to a lie.

Screw you, and the horse, or sailboat, that you rode in on. As for the sailboat maybe next time you should pay your taxes.

Therefore, I’m actually attached to fairly intelligent, and a very hardworking group of people who want the best for their children. They are motivated, and full of something called common sense. On a personal note; I could probably drink a little less, but with people like you, and President Schmucko up there, a few Sam Adam’s and Scotch & Soda’s seem like a wise idea. Just so long as I don’t go joy riding near a bridge in Chappaquiddick looking for broads to drowned.

On November 2, 2010 this “know nothing,” who has clearly had his full of numb nuts like you is going to deliver to all of you liberals the “what for” along with tens of millions of his friends he has never met, but loves all the same. I want this country on firm financial ground, or headed there at warp speed. I want our borders defended and secured. I want America to get back in the business of manufacturing Americans out of immigrants, and to abandon this multicultural crap. I want to define and kill America’s enemies, and get the hell out of the middle east for once and for all. And, Last but not least I want my BR-40 100 Watt light bulb back!

Drop Dead, and if you can’t do us that courtesy, at least be quiet while we try to fix the mess you liberals have caused. Having you give a guy like me advice is like asking Barney Frank to perform a proctological exam.

Leftists, like the examples above, are really imploding this election season. I can only imagine what it’s going to be like in 2012 when the prospect that Obama may be voted out gets closer and closer to reality. What will these people be saying then? It’s so over-the-top now, I can only imagine! Until then, I can only laugh at the left’s current argument that “We are smarter than you and you’re too stupid to realize that!” When Maher spouts that garbage, I would merely ask, “So do you think you are one of the ‘Smart People’?” One could only laugh at his obvious response…”Yes, I am!” If he and his ilk are so smart, why do they continue to advocate policies that history has shown fail consistently? Mr. Maher, that is not intelligence. That is called insanity.

  • Growltiger

This fits in with what Peter Jennings said back in 1994 when the Left was blind-sided by the Republicans winning the House and Senate. I can’t quote him directly, but his statement was that the voters had a temper tantrum and “we can’t be governed by a bunch of two year olds”. Not much has changed in the sixteen years. We voters are good little children when we vote for an incompetent like Barack Obama but raging brats when we don’t vote for our parents’ choices. This is paternalistic socialism writ large.

Also note the way the elites use language. When Democrats are elected, they “win” the House and/or Senate. When Republicans are elected, they “take over” the House and Senate. It’s subtle, but it’s how they think.

So the same informed smart wonderful electorate that had the great sense to elect “The One” two years ago are now Knuckle dragging morons? I am confused. Or is it I am just stupid LOL.

The message from our betters is that Republicans equal the people equal stupid, unscientific, insane and scared. Democrats equal the elites equal everything sophisticated, cool, intelligent and modern

You know what’s funny? Both democrats and republicans agree we libertarians are out of our minds insane.

  • Edski

For the next two years the left is going to be completely insane with anger.

  • Samiam

Bill “Brazil is off petroleum” Maher displaying his intellect again.

  • Samiam

    LOL good point

  • Jon

I would like to see that weasel, American hating doooschbag Billy Maher say that to conservatives. He would get his rear end beat to a pulp, although he probably alkreadyt has by some of his boyfriends.,
Bottom line: Liberal pukes are for:
    1. gay marriage
    2. abortion for all on demand
    3. legalization of all drugs
    4. govt paying for everything
    5. no military

    Sounds like a winning combo.

Slogans like “Hope and Change” and ‘Yes We Can”?

Can’t the Left even pretend to be ‘liberal’ in the very best sense – open minded and kind?

  • Mashkikipj

Democrats have worked so hard for so long to dumb down their own electorate that they can’t believe that conservatives are well-read about The Constitution, Bill of Rights, historical texts, Current day bills and provisions and specific candidate positions and voting history. Yeah, Sen. Kerry, the electorate may not be very smart, but it isn’t the conservative electorate.

This “dumbing-down” of their electorate is one of the very reasons why this party is imploding. The Democrats who have wised up are either Indies, Republicans or Dems working covertly to implode the New Dem Party from within. Those are the real patriots.

  • Ironhawk

    Shhhh. Those words are forbidden.

  • JimmyC

Or “I’m John Kerry and I’m reporting for duty!”

    The cool kids aren’t.

  • Jules

Oh, yes. The response is on the way. Hope they’re all wearing their wet suits for the Tsunami. Do you think they will finally all move to France? Perhaps not, Sarkosky probably doesn’t want them. Greece, perhaps? Or in Friedman’s case, the democratic republic of China??? To quote one of the great, stupid, unwashed dumb people of America… “Bring it on!”

Of course they think Americans are stupid, the liberal leftists have been controlling education for at least 2 generations. If they could just find a way to get people through school without actually learning to read, or if they could get all education to be delivered in Spanish or Thai or Farsi or something, they would be in heaven.

Unfortunately, most people recover from their education, but since these people never did, they assume no one else does either.

    Best regards,

Yes! I cannot WAIT for the next George W. Bush, perhaps Sarah Palin or Chrstine O’Donnell to step into the White House in 2012 and bring us back to prosperity! To balance the budget the way it was balanced from 2001-2008, to let us regain the prosperity that America held until the very day Obama took office. To get rid of health care for everybody, to dismantle our worthless public schooling systems, and to finally achieve victory in Iraq by nuking it, and to get rid of all and every tax system in the nation. It’s my money, and you aren’t entitled to ANY of it.

  • WestHoustonGeo

Amen to that. I just returned from a trip to Brazil to talk business about the fantastically huge deposits of (offshore, deep water) petroleum that Petrobras is rapidly exploiting. They will be rich as Saudis, very soon.

  • george

Lets not play semantics. In the best since a democracy means the people all have a say. We all have a say and that is who willo represent us. It also means that each individual state keeps a certain amount of power for it’s self. In the truest since it gives each individual more power because he can’t be swallowed up by a national vote, but rather he can pool his votes with others in his state to maintain independence from the federal government as a whole/

Always nice to know that the government still think the general public stink.
