My Extraordinary November

There’s usually a book of mine or a magazine or two on the mantelpiece above my fireplace.   I put up my most recent publication and then put it on a shelf somewhere when something else comes out to replace it.

This November, however, has been so extraordinary, the mantle is jam-packed.  Reading from left to right:

Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine – the New Year issue will feature my ghost story, “The Advent Reunion,” a written version of the video story I performed last year.

City JournalI’m honored CJ’s 20th anniversary issue will feature my short story “The Windows,” only the second work of fiction ever published by the Journal, the first having been a reprint of a Charles Dickens work.

The Identity Man – my new thriller for adults.

The Truth of the Matter – Number three in the Homelanders series of thrillers for Young Adults.

Best American Noir of the Century – An anthology featuring my Edgar-nominated short story “Her Lord and Master.”

Christmas at the Mysterious Bookshop – An anthology featuring my short story “The Killer Christian.”

The Identity Man - The British version.

There’s no more room on the mantle so I hope you’re busy ordering these fine works from Amazon or your local bookstore.

Ah! The Advent Reunion was a trip! I watched your online performance of it (at least a couple of times), and I have to admit, I was “snookered” by your first-person “re-telling.” I really thought for a moment, “Did Mr. Klavan really… ?”

Then, I woke up and realized what a great narrator you are, and what a cool and horrible piece of fiction you had penned there.
