There’s usually a book of mine or a magazine or two on the mantelpiece above my fireplace. I put up my most recent publication and then put it on a shelf somewhere when something else comes out to replace it.
This November, however, has been so extraordinary, the mantle is jam-packed. Reading from left to right:
Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine – the New Year issue will feature my ghost story, “The Advent Reunion,” a written version of the video story I performed last year.
City Journal – I’m honored CJ’s 20th anniversary issue will feature my short story “The Windows,” only the second work of fiction ever published by the Journal, the first having been a reprint of a Charles Dickens work.
The Identity Man – my new thriller for adults.
The Truth of the Matter – Number three in the Homelanders series of thrillers for Young Adults.
Best American Noir of the Century – An anthology featuring my Edgar-nominated short story “Her Lord and Master.”
Christmas at the Mysterious Bookshop – An anthology featuring my short story “The Killer Christian.”
The Identity Man - The British version.
There’s no more room on the mantle so I hope you’re busy ordering these fine works from Amazon or your local bookstore.
