Andrew on “Dark Knight Rises” in WSJ

Andrew has an op-ed on the new Batman film, “The Dark Knight Rises” in the Wall Street Journal of Monday July 30th. Andrew’s op-ed on the previous Batman film, “The Dark Knight,” was one of the most discussed opinion pieces of 2008. In the current op-ed, Andrew discusses the film’s honesty in dissecting radicalism, saying, “There are, after all, no socialist filmmakers in Hollywood. There are only capitalist filmmakers…  who make socialist films.” The entire piece can be read at the link.

    Mr. Klavan states that “free markdets and investments, while creating super-wealthy men like the philanthropist hero Bruce Wayne, also create a rising tide of money that lifts the rest of us.”
     
    If only it were true.  At the link

    from the 2010 U.S. Census, the median income of men from 1947 to 2010, in 2010 dollars, is graphed.  The graph shows that the median income in 1967 was higher than in 2010!  Where is that rising tide! (Oh, I forgot, it lifted the income and wealth of the top 1%, but left the rest of us where we were 45 years ago!)
