Andrew’s Christmas story The Killer Christian will have yet another incarnation in this December’s anthology Christmas at the Mysterious Bookshop from Vanguard Press. The volume also features Christmas stories by Mary Higgins Clark, Donald Westlake, Lawrence Block and others. Andrew’s tale of a mob hit-man redeemed by a Christmas hoax had its first publication as a limited edition pamphlet given away by the bookshop as a holiday gift. It was then reprinted last year by Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine. EQMM, by the way, will be running another of Andrew’s Christmas offerings – The Advent Reunion – this year.

The Third Homelanders Scheduled

November will be a two book month for Andrew. Thomas Nelson publishers have scheduled The Truth of the Matter, the third book in the young adult Homelanders tetralogy, for a November 2nd pub date. The Identity Man, Andrew’s next thriller for adults, is scheduled for November 11 from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Nelson Demille Praises ID Man

Advance praise keeps coming in for Andrew’s next adult thriller The Identity Man. Double Dutch Shotgun

Shotgun Alley, the second in Andrew’s great Weiss/Bishop trilogy, will have a second publication in Holland as part of an Omnibus edition. De Boekerij, Andrew’s Dutch publisher, will reissue Shotgun in a single volume with the The Hit List by British action writer Chris Ryan. In Shotgun, private eye Jim Bishop joins a criminal motorcycle gang in order to find a politician’s runaway daughter, only to become involved with both the girl and the gang’s charismatic leader.

Cannell Praises ID Man

Charlie Italian Style

The first book in Andrew’s Homelanders series now has a publisher in Italy. The Last Thing I Remember will be published by Renoir Comics, an Italian firm specializing in Young Adult and graphic novels. Renoir is also the Italian publisher of the popular Vampire Kisses series. In America, Last Thing has already been followed by the second book in the series, The Long Way Home.

“Agents” Garnering Top Reviews

Agents of Treachery, Otto Penzler’s anthology of espionage stories–the first anthology of original spy stories ever–is receiving rave reviews. The collection, which includes a story by Andrew, received starred pre-publication raves from both Publishers Weekly and Booklist and has now received glowing praise in the Washington Times and from Clea Simon at the Boston Globe. Simon refers to Andrew’s story “Sleeping With My Assassin” as “chilling,” describing it as a tale of “a long-dormant sleeper spy as he unravels and finds what could be love or, at least, his fate.”

Charlie Goes to Israel

Andrew’s Homelanders series has found an Israeli publisher. Dani Books, the Israeli publisher of both the Harry Potter and Twilight novels, will bring out the Homelanders Young Adult thrillers, starting with The Last Thing I Remember. Homelanders tells the story of Charlie West, an ordinary teenager who mysteriously finds himself hunted by Islamist terrorists and wanted by the police. The series will include four books all together.

Identity Man Slated For November

The Identity Man, Andrew’s new thriller for adults, now has an official publication date. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt will bring the novel out under its Otto Penzler imprint on November 11 of this year. The novel tells the story of a thief framed for murder who is offered a new identity by a mysterious stranger. Set in a fictional city recovering from floods and rioting, it deals with issues of race, urban politics and the nature of identity.
